AUTMHQ UPDATES
Hola and Hello!
The 12 Days of AUTMHQ is still going on! 🎉 These last few days have been filled with joy, community, and inspiration. We've learned a lot about our Austin Urban Technology Movement (AUTMHQ) staff's accomplishments and goals, the work that our volunteers do for our AUTMites, and the AUTMites' dreams and achievements. Furthermore, we have learned about our partners and the work they are doing to reshape the tech ecosystem into a more diverse environment.
The 12 Days of AUTMHQ is designed to connect with everyone involved in the AUTMHQ movement who are making a difference in the community. We meet to talk about how to increase diversity in technology, how to provide opportunities and resources to families and individuals from the Black and Hispanic communities who want to start a career in technology, and how to use these resources for personal and professional development. You can watch these discussions in the videos below.👇 Whether you or someone you know is interested in pursuing a career in technology or simply furthering their education, Austin Urban Technology Movement is here to help! We provide cohort-based courses, resources such as computers and internet access, mentorship, networking events, workshops, job placement, and more to help everyone on their journeys. In the meantime, if you want to learn more about us, please come join us at our in-person Merry, Merry Happy Hour with AUTMHQ and partners at The Dogwood at The Domain, as well as in our Community Holiday Party at the Special Events Center of the Austin Public Library. For times and dates, please see the calendar of events below.👇

Whether you are new to technology or a seasoned veteran, you can help shape this industry. Watch the AUTMHQ community conversation to hear the stories of our volunteers and AUTMites. This is such an uplifting discussion!
We put our AUTMHQ Newsletter subscribers' industry knowledge to the test while also celebrating the holiday season with our community at our AUTMHQ Gameshow. Are you up to date on AUTMHQ news and technology trends in Texas and around the world? Try it out right here!

Have you completed this FCC National Broadband Map?
We encourage everyone to check their address on the FCC's first-ever draft fabric maps, which show where broadband service is available street by street at the address level. The information was voluntarily self-reported to the FCC by the internet service providers.
It's critical because the next map will determine NTIA funding for the state of Texas' BEAD (Broadband Equity, Access, and Development Program). We can't fix it if we don't know where the "holes" are.
We anticipate mistakes because this has never been done before and it is a large task. If anyone discovers incorrect information, such as a map showing high-speed fixed broadband service being available at an address that is incorrect, they are encouraged to challenge it. The FCC needs to hear back by January 12 in order to include updates in the next fabric map.
