

The Business Development organization is a key strategic differentiator within the NI Aerospace, Defense & Government (ADG) Business Unit (BU), driving best-in-class customer-facing business development in Key Application Areas / Market Segments and is a critical liaison between Regional Sales and the BU, accelerating growth through deeper connections and insight from customers.
NI is making significant investments and developing offerings in several market domains. As a Business Development Manager (BDM) for this exciting industry, you will have the opportunity to help our customers keep up with the pace of innovation and achieve their objectives. The BDM will directly interface with Aerospace & Defense customers (Government Agencies, Prime Contractors, and their suppliers) across the Americas to deliver innovative solutions that balance time-to-market, cost, and quality. You will provide the domain expertise to lead and enable the Sales organization in customer engagements to build credibility, deepen customer insight and identify increased revenue opportunities in the design and testing of various systems. NI is currently looking for a Business Development Manager in the Communications, Navigation & Surveillance domains.
The BDM will collaborate closely with a global team of experts, including the Offering Managers, Solutions Marketers and Account Managers, to refine our strategy, identify target accounts and execute on aligned account objectives to validate NI’s offering and secure customer commitment. In addition, the BDM will work closely with key solution partners to identify new markets and jointly develop new business. A strong predictor of success in this role is the ability to develop relationships with highly technical customers and frame up innovative solutions to problems. The selected candidate will join a team of experienced ADG BDMs leading NI in developing new business in key growth areas.
This role will report to ADG BU BD Director, and the person can be located in Austin or in any major city in USA.
Key Responsibilities & Objectives
Develop and execute on a 3-year growth strategy & yearly plan to expand market share in the CNS markets. Key sales objectives for this role include strategic account milestones and the generation of new revenue.
Identify target accounts and prioritize the top market needs for the Communications, Navigation and Surveillance markets by working closely with market offering managers.
Own specific objectives/activities on account plans designed to meet growth targets.
Act as a business and technical consultant to customers and prospects to define requirements, assess fit and deliver solutions to complex design, validation and test challenges.
Work closely with the account team, key solution partners, marketing, and NI technical resources to define the customer engagement process and ensure customer success.
Provide integrated regional customer insight to shape future offerings and influence ecosystem strategy. Recommend future investments and guide the efficient use of services and support resources.
Represent NI in Industry Eco-system – develop strong relationship in the industry eco-system and represent NI as a key Business & Technology leader in the eco-system.
