Seeking a candidate with experience in supporting and maintaining 24/7 real-time control systems and SCADA equipment for an airport.

Duties, Functions and Responsibilities: - Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned. - Supports 24/7 real-time control system integrity and ensure the highest operational reliability and system availability. This requires after hours on-call support to meet the response requirements for restoring the mission critical system. - Installs, enhances, troubleshoots, calibrates and repairs systems and/or equipment that is part of the Austin Airport’s Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition ( SCADA ) systems and Baggage Handling Systems ( BHS ). - Conducts field inspections of baggage handling system - Learns application programming activities, including coding, testing, debugging, documentation and system modifications - Configures and programs process control applications (Human Machine Interfaces), Programmable Logic Controllers ( PLC ) and Remote Terminal Unit ( RTU ) functions. - Performs loop checks, point-to-point checks, control loop analysis and hardware/software diagnostics of SCADA and ESS systems and equipment. - Maintains stock and parts inventories and documentation for all systems. Responsibilities – Supervisor and/or Leadership Exercised: None. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: - Must possess required knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed. - Ability to work with Unix (TRU64 Unix preferred). - Knowledge of PLC ladder login programming. - Knowledge of Siemens, GE Fanuc, or Allen Bradley integrated architecture. - Ability to understand database design and application development. - Ability to perform systems testing of specification requirements. - Ability to understand and use standard application development design, report and project management tools. - Ability to effectively participate in multiple projects or project capacities. - Ability to perform objective analyses and re-engineering of business processes to maximize quality service and cost-effectiveness.
