Steven Hatchett
Vice President of Programming
Steven has worked in Higher Education for close to 20 years, advocating for underrepresented students. In that work, he worked with populations that included working with at-risk youth in the inner city of Chicago. During those years, Steven can remember losing close to four students a year to gun violence.
In his most recent role at Huston-Tillotson University, Steven worked to challenge notions of what career services and workforce development to build partnerships for the University from a three to more than 15, as a department one. Working to shift the narrative of what workforce development should look like on a college campus, fundraising close to $200,000 in his last year before transiting to AUTM.
In his current role at AUTM, Steven is looking forward to rolling up his sleeves assisting the organization as it attempts to help Black and Latino AUTMites gain access to jobs in the technology sector through the programs and support it offers.
Steven is also the Cofounder of _OF COLOR, a artist collective that supports artists of color through cultural relevant events and programming.

In his free time, Steven is an avid runner and local portrait and lifestyle photographer.
