About the role

Product designers at BigCommerce are part of the entire product development process, from concept to launch. They work closely with product managers, UX research, UX writing and engineers to build end to end solutions by identifying the customer problem, iterating on solutions, and shipping finished products. As a Product Designer at BC you will have autonomy to shape the products you work on, while being able to learn from and collaborate with a collaborative team of top-tier professionals.

As a Product Designer you will cultivate an understanding of customer problems and craft experiences that will enable our merchants and their businesses to flourish and succeed. • Understand the merchant, shopper and developer problem sets, competitor solutions in the market and trends in e-commerce.

  • Design both the shopper facing experience across the product details page, cart and checkout and the merchant facing experience across setup and configuration.

  • Identify the capabilities and limitations of third-party technologies to inform an ideal user experience, including the discovery and configuration of payment gateways for a variety of complex use cases.

  • Run user interviews and validation of designs, in partnership with product management and user research.

  • Create flows, sketches, prototypes, wireframes, and high fidelity mockups to communicate concepts, solicit feedback, and validate solutions; facilitate an aligned vision among your team and partners.

  • Collaborate with other designers on the best usage and evolution of patterns, ensuring our solutions are consistent and familiar.

  • Partner with the product manager and our data team to define success metrics and constantly improve them with experiments and optimizations.

  • Partner with the product manager and our data team to define success metrics and iterate toward improvements upon each release.
