The NI Product R&D organization is hiring for an entry-level Digital Hardware Engineering position. As a Digital Hardware Engineer, you will enjoy challenging work, the unique opportunity to take ownership of your products, and be involved in all aspects of the product development cycle - including design, prototyping, development, testing, and manufacturing production.
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary hardware engineering teams to develop test and measurement products.
Develop register maps and generate documentation to ensure clear design intent to the broader project team.
Own the full FPGA design, including logic implementation, data movement and analysis, testbenches, compilation, and timing analysis.
Own all aspects of digital board level design, including schematic entry, layout guidelines, signal integrity simulations, and prototype validation.
Develop and execute plans for prototype hardware bring-up and board level validation.
Be the voice of digital design in project meetings by estimating level of effort for design tasks, providing input on status of work, and proactively raising technical concerns.
Minimum Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer, or Software Engineering, or a related discipline.Minimum overall GPA 3.2
Proficiency in synchronous design elements including flip-flops, timing diagrams, and state machines
Working knowledge of:Programmable logic design including VHDL or Verilog, synthesis, and design simulation techniques
Computer architectures and interfaces
Sequential and combinatorial logic
Basic memory technologies and processor interfaces
Analog design fundamentals
Understanding of computers and programming languages (e.g. C, C++, LabVIEW, python)
Interest in learning about and working with digital, analog, and computer technologies
Strong work ethic and drive to succeed
Demonstrated ability to:Apply diagnostic insight to identify technical problems, propose viable options, and apply technical solutions.
Quickly learn applicable technology, systems, and products
Take initiative, be a self-starter, and work independently
Work effectively in a team development environment
