BigCommerce’s Chief Information Officer will scale much of our internally-facing technology to support our company’s growth.  Your work will be highly cross-functional, leading the strategy and execution across key areas of investment, including business applications, corporate IT, and security.  Success will allow the company to scale through organic growth, M&A, and partnerships.


This high-profile, global role will be a member of our executive leadership team and work closely with other leaders to ensure our short and long-term roadmap is aligned to the ambitious growth goals of the company, especially across marketing, sales, and operations.  A strong business understanding of the levers of growth for a modern SaaS company and the ability to communicate using a business voice to navigate technical requirements will be crucial.


A successful leader in this role will have experience working with a modern SaaS-based cloud stack and will have similar experience scaling post-IPO companies through rapid growth.  Experience with current compliance frameworks will be crucial for success, as will a strong capability to partner with finance, legal, and operations teams.


Desired Qualifications:


  • Deep experience leading multiple departments at scale including Corporate IT, Business Applications, and Security/Compliance

  • Experience with modern SaaS and cloud platforms, including Salesforce, Workday, AWS, and Google Cloud

  • Track record of developing strategic technology roadmaps and delivering on timelines and within budget

  • Experience with leading sales and marketing enablement toolsets and modern data platforms

  • Strong familiarity with SOX with an eye toward evolving and simplifying processes to improve the overall strength of ITGC

  • Ability to manage a complex budget including building new investment cases and effectively gauging return on investment

Who You Are:


  • 15+ years of related experience

  • 5-10 years of management experience

  • You’ve demonstrated a clear trajectory of professional growth over time.

  • You have worked for industry-leading technology companies, including very fast-paced companies at our stage and in a similar or adjacent technology sector

  • An expert understanding of the technology that enables eCommerce success is required

  • Desire to work in a collaborative, open environment on an Agile team as a contributor and mentor

  • Highly proactive and results-oriented with excellent critical thinking skills

  • Excited to teach and learn new technologies
